The SimpleCreate tool

SimpleCreate is used for creating new geometry on the reference mesh's surface. You can create vertices, edges and split existing edges. The faces are created automatically by TopoGun.

The SimpleEdit tool

SimpleEdit allows you to select and modify the scene geometry. You can choose between several selection modes, marquee selection models, select edge rings and edge loops, create new edge loops and split/collapse existing edge rings.

The Draw tool

The Draw tool helps you create new geometry by using paint strokes. Each stroke is editable (you can erase portions of the stroke, join several strokes, extend existing ones) and there are several approaches using the Draw tool.

The Bridge tool

You can create, or "bridge" edges and/or quad faces using the Bridge tool. The tool has two operating modes: the Edges mode and the Faces mode.

The Subdivision feature

By using Subdivision feature in Topogun, the artist can faithfully reproduce all the finer details of the concept sculpt or 3D scan and at the same time, preserve the desired edgeflow of the retopologized mesh.

Interface customization

The interface is simple, straightforward and very customizable, giving you the freedom to modify it to fit your needs. You can add/delete interface elements and/or rearrange them easily.

Head retopologizing

A quick video showing a human head model retopologizing. The video is recorded by Pior Oberson (www.pioroberson.com) and it's played back at double the original speed.

TopoGun in action

TopoGun retopo session by Mashru Mishu (www.fx81.com). The model was created for a sculpting competition at www.cgcoach.com and Mashru Mishu used TopoGun to retopologize the base mesh.

TopoGun overview

Thomas Mahler introduces us to TopoGun and speaks about the interface and briefly describes the TopoGun tools and main features. You can visit his website at www.thomasmahler.com and find more about his work.

TopoGun retopologizing session

Thomas Mahler recorded a timelapsed TopoGun head retopologizing session, creating an animation ready topology for one of his models. You can visit his website at www.thomasmahler.com and find more about his work.
